Description: Acromegaly is a hormonal disorder. It develops when your pituitary gland, located deep in the brain, produces too much growth hormone (GH). Growth hormone affects growth of all tissues of the body, especially bone.
This screen is used to aid in the diagnosis of acromegaly. Significant deviations from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
Insulin-Like Growth Factor I(IGF-1);
Thyroxine (T4) Free, Direct, Serum;
Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH).
Patient Instructions: Samples should not be collected during or soon after the administration of Heparin. Patient should fast for 12 hours.
